About

Hello, my friends. I’m Frank, and it’s great to meet you. Thank you for visiting EverythingBoomers.com

Our mission is to share beneficial information, aiding our generation in achieving a healthy, happy, peaceful, and secure life. Much has been published and narrated about us, the Boomer generation, and believe me, there’s a lot more to come.

It’s estimated that there were seventy million, yes, 70,000,000 plus, of us born between the years 1946 and 1964. Those demographics represent significant numbers in the financial, healthcare, real estate, travel, and entertainment worlds, and the list goes on. If I recall correctly, for over 20 years, we’ve been targeted, for lack of a better word, by these industries and their advertisements.

Over half of us Boomers have turned 65, have Social Security accounts, and are on Medicare for healthcare. Some over 65 are still working, many have retired, and some have relocated. We’ve experienced health issues; some have been caregivers, and many of us have lost both parents and lifelong friends.

Twenty years ago, we were talking about what would happen, and now, 20 years later, we’re talking about what is happening.

We all know how important money is, and polls indicate that financial concerns are paramount for Boomers. So we will use our website BoomersFinancial.com as a source to guide you to professional financial advisors and retirement planners.

EverythingBoomers.com will concentrate on health  and wellness, as we should all agree that without our health, what good is money?

Our families and friends will have discussions about the many personal and social issues of growing older. This should be fun and provide many interesting insights into what we Boomers are experiencing.

As Everythingboomers matures, we will expand to furnish information on real estate, travel, entertainment, and more.

Please let me introduce myself. My name is Frank Pirkel, born in 1948 in the great State of Iowa. After graduating in 1966, I enlisted and served two years in the United States Marine Corps along with my best friend, and we have remained best of friends since.

I obtained my first insurance license in 1971 with Prudential, and in 1974, I opened my first independent insurance agency with a colleague.

After selling my share in the agency in 1978, I moved my family to Southern California.    I opened two agencies/brokerages in Costa Mesa and owned and operated my last one from 1987 to 2017, retiring in 2018.

I’ve maintained an active insurance license for over 50 years and stay fully licensed in California and Iowa.

I’m blessed to have a daughter and son, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; at times, I wonder how did all this happen. I feel like I’ve lived a wonderful, blessed life, and at 75, traditional retirement is not for me.

First, I’m neither a professional writer nor a journalist, although I may have a chance with some of the editorials and journalistic articles I’ve read.

Now, however, I am someone who at times has looked to the future.

Twenty years ago, the Baby Boomer thing certainly seemed like it was going to be a big deal. You didn’t have to be Nostradamus to figure that out. I purchased a bunch of Boomer domain names, thinking someday they might be useful.

I initially had a plan for the website but decided to focus on my insurance business and save the domains for later. It was a good decision.

Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune to meet and insure thousands of people, many of whom I’d consider friends. I learned early in my career that I received great satisfaction and gratitude in helping and servicing other people’s needs.

I’m hoping to take that same spirit of service forward in writing and directing this blog and website.

Frank
